How quickly can I schedule surgery after my first appointment?
Surgery schedules are driven by physician evaluation. The majority of surgeries are scheduled within 7-14 days. Ultimately, the surgery schedules are driven by your physician's sense of urgency.
How long will I be off work or unable to drive after my surgery?
- Periods of disability vary with surgical procedures. Feel free to ask our staff for a personalized rehabilitation plan.
- Our physicians prefer no driving until after the post-operation exam.
Do you participate in my insurance plan?
We participate in 98% of all insurance plans. The best way to determine whether or not our services are covered by your insurance plan is to call the plan directly.
Do I need to bring my insurance card to my appointment?
Yes, it is always important to bring your insurance card with you to every appointment.
Do I need a referral for my visit to this office?
Your insurance carrier decides whether or not you are required to have a referral. Check your policy or call them directly.
Is there a co-pay for my office visits?
Each insurance plan varies. Co-pays are usually printed on your insurance card.
Should I bring copies of my tests and x-rays with me?
Yes. You should ask the facility where your x-rays were conducted to get the films and reports and bring them to your visit appointment.
When can I refill my prescription?
We requests 24 hours notice to refill any prescriptions.
Why must I provide you with the same information I've already given the hospital or another physician's office?
All medical practices are unique. Different specialties require different information. The information we request, though it may be in duplicate, will provide us with the most up-to-date and accurate information.
Am I a candidate for laparoscopic surgery?
In general, laparoscopic surgery has been shown to be advantageous for a number of elective surgeries. However, a detailed evaluation of each patient and problem is necessary to determine suitability.
Where will I have my surgery?
Dayton Surgeon's Inc. performs inpatient and outpatient procedures at Miami Valley Hospital, Kettering Medical Center, and Lincoln Park Surgical Center.
Will I receive bills for my surgery in addition to the Dayton Surgeon's, Inc bills I receive?
Typically our patients receive separate bills from the hospital, surgical center, anesthesiologist, radiologists and other consulting physicians. In some cases bills may also come from a lab or other services involved in the surgical process. Questions regarding these bills are best directed to the provider of the service.
What are your policies on Insurance and Medicare?
Dayton Surgeons Inc., on behalf of our patients, will file insurance claims to primary and secondary Insurance companies for services provided by the said group. It is the patient's responsibility to ensure that all the information supplied to Dayton Surgeons Inc. is accurate at the time of registration
If your insurance company requires you to have tests or to be hospitalized at a particular hospital, please inform our receptionist each time. If you have tests ordered or need to be admitted per a phone conversation with one of our doctors, please inform them of your insurance requirements.
Do you have a credit policy?
Health insurance is designed to help you meet the cost of medical care; however, the basic responsibility is yours. We are required by Federal Law to treat all patient accounts equally.
