I grew up in Kettering and graduated from Fairmont High School. I earned a degree in Chemistry from Miami University and a medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. I went on to complete my surgical residency at Wright State University. While a resident, I was a member of the House Staff Council and a Committee on Residency representative.

In the Spring and Summer of 2005, I was recruited to join Dayton Surgeons, Inc. It was an opportunity for me to come home and work with good surgeons and good friends. My father was a member of Dayton Surgeons, Inc. from the early 1960's until the early 1990's.

My wife, Julie, and I met while I was working as a surgical attendant at Miami Valley Hospital in the late 1980's. We now have 3 children, and in my spare time I enjoy running, snowboarding, and cheering for my favorite sports teams: the Pittsburg Steelers, the Miami Redhawks, and the Tipp City boys select soccer team.
